for adults with
special mental
health needs and/or
limited incomes
through the
development,
construction,
renovation, and
management of
housing units.

Housing Assistance Program
The Housing Assistance Program (HAP) is a
form of rental subsidy administered by NHDC. This program enable
qualifying persons on limited incomes the opportunity to rent their own
housing unit. Rent subsidy dollars are made available through the
Four County ADAMhs Board and the Ohio Department of Mental Health.
NHDC assists an average of thirty-five households each month. HAP
is TEMPORARY rental subsidy that is to be used only until other
assistance becomes available. Rent responsibility for persons on
the HAP program is calculated at 40% of gross income minus a utility
allowance, if applicable. HAP supported housing is available
throughout the four county area.
